Bridge over the river Kwai, Kanchanaburi, Thailand
About
This probably looks a bit different to the bridge from the famous film of the same name. This is because the bridge you see in the photo has been drasticly modernised since the second world war and also the film was actually shot in Vietnam. The Death Railway as it came to be known after the huge loss of life from the prisoners of war who constructed it is the major tourist attraction in Kanchanaburi. I stayed at the Jolly frog backpackers hostel further down the river and spent many afternoons relaxing as the sun set of the beautiful Kwai.
