Cristo Redentor, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
About
Earlier today I checked out the friendly Jesus statue that lurks over Rio from the top of Corcovado mountain. Christ the Redeemer as it translates in English is one of the new wonders of the world and pulls in the tourists like nothing else I have ever seen before. Construction of this huge 40 metre high statue began 90 years ago and is the most iconic landmark of Rio if not all of Brazil. Apparently though it is only the 5th largest Jesus statue in the world. Where the hell are the others hiding?
