Hope Valley, Castleton, Derbyshire
About
This weekend I decided to go for a drive up to Castleton in Derbyshire. It's only a 30 minute cruise from Sheffield and was quite a nice day despite the cold breeze and suspicious clouds lurking above. I calculated on the way that I hadn't been up to visit Castleton for 10 years. Last time I went was probably A-level Maths weekend at Glenbrook during sixth form college. The view is looking down over Hope Valley from the hill adjacent to the ruins of Peverill Castle. There were lots of tourists head to toe in the latest North Face walking around the town and plenty of sheep to chase. After the 2 hours parking was up I ventured to nearby Bradwell to stop off at a local convenience store. With the light fading I headed back and stopped off at The Travellers Rest pub for a quick coffee and a side order of oven chips.
