New Cathedral of Cuenca, Ecuador
About
This is the view from the far side of Parque Calderon in Cuenca of the New Cathedral of Cuenca or The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception as it is also known. The building was started in 1885 and finished in 1975 and soon took over in duty from the old cathedral which had become too small. The three giant blue tile domes which surmount the building have become an icon for Cuenca.
