The Jardines Noonday Gun, Hong Kong
About
A tradition which has been around since the early days of Hong Kong is the firing of the noon day gun. I wasn't expecting much but the blast was really loud and took a few of the spectators by surprise. No sooner had it started it was over to be honest. The whole event which happens everyday at noon involves a uniformed officer checking his watch, firing his gun and then disappearing back unto his little hut. You can wander around the gun and play with his bell for the 15 minutes after the gun is fired.
