Valparaíso bay, Chile
About
The port at Valparaíso dominates the coastline and is one of Chile's busiest seaports. Valparaíso was an important port during the late 18th century and earned itself the nickname "The Jewel of the Pacific". Away from the port bright coloured houses densely populate the numerous steep hills overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It's tiny narrow winding cobblestone streets are awash with market stalls, boutique art/clothing shops and tiny restaurants. It became a World Heritage Site in 2003.
