Walking along the Via Transilvanica near Bistrița
About
After discovering the Via Transilvanica route last year, I and my travel buddy Radu decided to go back and get some stamps in our book. Our plan was to complete the Highland section which we officially started on our last day last year. We only managed five days of walking but we were once again graced with excellent weather and no injuries.
The section was easier but wasn't as interesting as the Bucovina section we did last year. The residents of the villages we visited each day were generally quite withdrawn and hesitant to embrace travellers. That said, we were fed each evening and never went hungry.
In the photo Radu and our new recruit Sergiu (red rucksack) appear to be pacing ahead while I am leading from the back and taking in the scenic view.
